About The world in images
The world in images is a private collection of geographically relevant photographs from all around the world. Its main purpose is to illustrate the diversity of planet Earth in a structured way. As such it is mainly considered an educational resource that can be used at all levels of instruction from primary schools to universities.
All the images in the database are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.
Please feel free to copy, distribute, transmit or adapt the images. However, you must reference the source, and you may not use the images for commercial purposes. If you alter, transform, or build upon the images, you may distribute the results only under the same or a similar license to this one.
You are highly welcome to use the images particularly for non-commercial research and teaching without further notice. The geographic locations of all images have been estimated from Google Earth. All pieces of information have been prepared with utmost care, but mistakes in the names, descriptions, geographic locations, and tags of the images cannot be ruled out.
