Delhi | Qutb Complex with Qutub Minar

WI_in057.jpg

This ancient assemblage of Islamic monuments was built on (and from) the rubble of destroyed Hindu and Jain places of worship. The 73 m high minaret Qutub Minar (constructed between the outgoing 12th Century and the late 14th Century) prominently appears in the centre of the photograph, whereas the ruins of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque can be seen in the very left background.
