View in E direction to the harbour of Heimaey, the only large settlement of the island of the same name and the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. The steep mountain on the left side is Heimaklettur (283 m), whereas the uneven land in the right background is a lava field going back to the formation of Eldfell in 1973, when the harbour entrance was at risk of being blocked. Eldfell (200 m) and the 6000 year old volcano Helgafell (227 m) appear in the right portion of the photo.
