View from the Costado da Nau to the lighthouse which came into service in 1903 and was abandoned in 1957 due to the eruption of the Capelinhos volcano. Later on, the site has evolved into a major tourist attraction, with an interpretation centre of the Açores UNESCO Global Geopark located underground.
