View from Hohe Kugel in SE direction to Hoher Freschen (2004 m), built of relatively dark, soft, and erodible Cretaceous marlstone, which once formed at the N shelf of the Tethys ocean. This so-called Helvetic system is common in Switzerland, but only found in the very W part of Austria.
