Watarrka NP | Kings Canyon
Viewpoint near the Kings Canyon Rim Walk. The canyon's escarpments consist mainly of the aeolian Mereenie sandstone overlaying the older and more erodible Carmichael Sandstone. The white-trunked tree in the central foreground is a ghost gum (Corymbia aparrerinja). The Kings Canyon drains the western part of the George Gill Range.
