Atherton Tablelands, near the Red Peak Station of the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. The Queensland kauri pine is a species of the ancient Araucariaceae family of conifers. It occurs in two spots in Queensland, as well as in Papua Neuguinea. Another well-known kauri species is Agathis australis, endemic to the North Island of New Zealand.
