View from the Lions Gate Bridge over the 4 square kilometres large park to the CBD of Vancouver in the southeast. The Stanley Park is almost completely surrounded by water. In contrast to most other urban parks, it is less a product of landscape architecture than a mix of native temperate rainforest and certain types of man-made structures, many of which date back to the first half of the 20th century.
