WI_uke096.jpg

The High Level Bridge has been opened in 1849. Since then, it has carried railway traffic on its upper deck and road vehicles (though now with restrictions) as well as pedestrians on its lower deck across the River Tyne between Newcastle (viewpoint) and Gateshead.
