View from Europe in southeastern direction to Asia. The first crossing of Bosphorus, with a main span of 1074 m, has connected Europe and Asia since 1973. Its official name is 15 July Martyrs Bridge. Four more Bosphorus crossings (bridges and tunnels for road and railway traffic) have been completed by 2017 in order to ease the inter-continental traffic.
