The Qutb Complex represents an ancient assemblage of Islamic monuments that was built on (and from) the rubble of destroyed Hindu and Jain places of worship. Parts of the ruins of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque appear in the foreground, whereas the 73 m high minaret Qutub Minar (constructed between the outgoing 12th century and the late 14th century) can be seen in the central background of the photo.
