View from below Darjeeling across the Rangeet Valley in northern direction to Kangchenjunga (8586 m) in the central background of the photo. This highest mountain of India and third highest in the world forms the border between Sikkim and Nepal. Its name means Five Treasures of Snow, referring to its five summits. Kangchenjunga is considered a sacred mountain by the local communities.
