Volcán Descabezado Grande

WI_ch258o.jpg

Flight Puerto Montt - Santiago de Chile, view in E direction to a bright zone of silicium dioxide-rich volcanic deposits. The source of this material is not only the Volcán Descabezado Grande (3953 m, in the centre), but mainly a secondary vent of Cerro Azul (not visble in this image). A huge eruption occurred there in 1932.
