Lago Titicaca | Isla Amantaní

Panoramic morning view from the slopes of Pachatata (4085 m) to the SE portion of the island which, with a surface area of slightly less than 10 square kilometres, rises more than 300 m above the lake. The roughly 4000 inhabitants grow various crops on ancient terraces. Tourism on Amantaní is fully community-based: visitors are assigned to privately operated guest houses on a rotational basis. Isla Taquile appears in the background of the scene.
