Plymouth | Town Hill

The capital of Montserrat was permanently evacuated in 1996 after the nearby Soufrière Hills Volcano had reactivated. Since then it has been almost completely buried in pyroclastic flows and lahars. The buildings in the suburb of Town Hill still exist, but fell into disrepair as the entire southern portion of the island remains an exclusion zone.
