View from the deposit in northwestern direction towards the scarp. This extremely mobile rock avalanche occurred in the morning of 7 July 2018. It travelled over a distance of 2.3 km, increasing its volume from approx. 7 million to more than 10 million cubic metres. Fine sediments within the deposit show that the landslide ploughed the probably water-saturated valley bottom when broadly spreading over flat terrain and blocking the river Hítará.
