Hainburg with Danube
WI_at270m.jpg Vienna Basin | Wind powerThumbnailsAustrian-Slovakian border

Flight Vienna - Bucharest, view down the Danube Valley in northeastern direction. In earlier geological times, the Danube did not follow the same way as it does now. Instead, it turned right in the place where the small town of Hainburg was built millions of years later, and passed the hill in the centre (the Braunsberg) on its southern side.
