View from Franz-Josefs-Höhe in NW direction to the Pasterze, one of Austria's largest glaciers. Großglockner (3798 m) and Glocknerwand (3722 m) are shown behind. Rock fall from the steep mountain face has resulted in a debris cover on the right side of the Pasterze which, to some extent, reduces the recession rate as it protects the ice from solar radiation. Johannisberg (3453 m) can be seen in the right background of the photo.
