Panoramic view across the proglacial lake of the Pasterze glacier in SW direction. This lake formed in the 2010s due to massive recession of the glacier tongue. The remnants of the Pasterze itself are shown in the right part of the scene. Rock fall from the steep mountain face of Großglockner (3798 m) and Glocknerwand (3722 m) has resulted in a debris cover on the right side of the glacier, reducing the recession rate as it protects the ice from solar radiation.
