Warscheneck | Limestone layers

WI_at192_406.jpg

View from Toter Mann to the summit of Warscheneck (2388 m). The individual layers of the Triassic limestone of the Dachstein Formation, which has formed in a shallow lagoon at the shelf of the ancient Tethys ocean, are clearly visible and give this part of the Totes Gebirge its particular appearance.
