The Grüner See (Green Lake) was impounded by an ancient landslide originating from the slopes of Messnerin. Its level undergoes seasonal changes, with a maximum in early summer. After having been voted as Austria's most beautiful place in a TV show in 2014, this lake has become quite popular and is visited by many people.
