View in NW direction. This peripheral area close to the Col du Larche at the French-Italian border has been affected by a loss of population for several decades - a situation which is characteristic for many places in the French Alps. Inhabitants have moved to larger centres, but retain their houses as holiday homes. Therefore, many buildings are functional, but uninhabited for most time of the year, and the number of permanent residents is very low.
