This hydroelectric reservoir was constructed in the 1950s. However, the dam suffered some damage from a slow-moving rock slide on the left bank (prominently visible in the central background of this panoramic view), so that the water level had to be drastically reduced already in the 1960s in order to ensure dam safety. In the 2010s, the dam was lowered substantially. The original structure reached higher than the view point of this scene.
