Due to restructuring of the Pirelli company, parts of the former industrial grounds of Bicocca in the N part of Milan have become available for other types of use. The neighbourhood is therefore characterized by a mixture of old industrial facilities, such as the water tower Torre Breda, completed in 1913, and post-modern residential buildings. Also the University Milano-Bicocca is located in this area.
