Access bridges to the S portal of the 34.6 km long Lötschberg Base Tunnel close to St. German. This high-capacity railway line was put into service in 2007 after 13 years of construction, connecting Bern with the Valais and complementing the more than 100 years old Lötschberg Mountain Railway.
