WI_ge436.jpg

Sunset view across the Platz der Republik in E direction. The Reichstag Building was completed in 1894 and severely damaged by a fire in 1933. It fell into disuse and was only partly refurbished and maintained during the Cold War. The building was fully renovated after the German reunification, and equipped with a new glass dome completed in 1999. It houses the Bundestag, part of the German parliament.
