Flight Lisboa - Praia, view in NW direction down to Sal, representing one of the three E islands of the archipelago. They are older than the other islands, and volcanism has ceased long time ago as the islands moved away from the hot spot. Consequently, the summits have been eroded and the islands are characterized by the lack of high mountains, resulting in an arid climate all year round. The mostly sunny weather makes Sal a popular destination for beach tourism and related activities.
