The highest summit of Santiago (1394 m) observed from the vicinity of Monte Tchota. The lush green of the vegetation in the mountains of Santiago only persists for few months each year. After the short rainy season, colours quickly turn to yellowish and brownish in October or November, and remain so until the following August. The trees seen in the foreground are Eucalyptus - they are not native, but were introduced from Australia.
