View from the top of the escarpment (Bordeira) across the caldera of Fogo in N direction to the secondary crater, cinder cone, and lava flows which formed during the most recent eruption in 2014/15. The eruption started with the lava flow moving towards the foreground of the scene, obstructing the road crossing the caldera. Later flows turned towards the background and partly destroyed the villages of Portela and Bangaeira.
