This 225 m high embankment dam on the Cauca River is part of a hydropower project under construction. Operation should have started in late 2018, but a landslide earlier the same year blocked the diversion tunnel. As an emergency measure, the water was led through the power house. The dam was completed rapidly, so that the spillway (seen in the foreground of the scene) takes all the runoff at the time of the photo, until the start of operation of the power plant. Also, note the landslide in the background.
