Flight Lima - Medellín. Near the Peruvian coast, it is so arid that agriculture is only possible where water from the rivers can be diverted into the fields for the purpose of irrigation. The mountain stream in this valley is a tributary to Río Chancay, reaching the Pacific Ocean N of Lima.
