This informal neighbourhood near the N border of the metropolitan area of Lima represents a pueblo joven ("young village"), having evolved mostly since 2012. Such kind of land invasion, mainly by people migrating from the countryside to Lima, is a common phenomenon at the edge of the city. Later on, when the inhabitants will have managed to earn some more money, the quality of the buildings will gradually improve, and so will the provision with public services.
