View from the Mirador Cruz del Cura down the Colca Canyon, deeply incised into the uplifting Andes. The vertical distance between the edge of the canyon (where also the viewpoint is located) and the Río Colca is 1200 m, whereas the highest summits nearby rise more than 3200 m above the valley bottom. Depending on definitions, the Colca Canyon might be considered one of the deepest canyons in the World. It has been declared a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2019.
