View from the vicinity of Mon (shown in the foreground) in NE direction to the lower S slope of Piz Linard and up the Albula Valley. The photo was taken less than two days after a rock avalanche had detached from the highly unstable slopes of Piz Linard, narrowly missing the village of Brienz (left centre of the scene). As the event had been expected, the village and its surroundings had been evacuated for more than one month. Also Brienz itself is located on a slow-moving landslide.
