This small village at approx. 1400 m asl. was founded around 1300 by immigrants from the Swiss canton of Valais (known as "Walser"). The picturesque church dates back to the late 15th century. Damüls has become a popular place for hiking and skiing. The prominent peak in the background of the scene is the Zafernhorn (2107 m).
