View across Lago Llanquihue to the glacier-covered stratovolcano Osorno (2652 m). This cone-shaped mountain has evolved in a large caldera of an older, mostly eroded volcano, and last erupted in 1849. The lake, one of the largest of Chile, fills a depression left by a Pleistocene glacier.
