View from Cerro Dragón in NW direction to the coastal city of Iquique. This enormous dune has developed during the Ice Ages when a sand-covered marine terrace, now submerged, was exposed to the winds. It is popular for recreation and sports activities, such as sandboarding and paragliding, among both locals and tourists.
