Andean pasture at the saddle between Susques and the Salar de Olaroz, at slightly above 4000 m asl. The W side of this mountain range, leading down to the salt flat, is very arid, whereas tradewinds bring some humid air to the E side, supporting shrublands on the slopes and mountain pastures in fluvially shaped valleys.
