Plitvička jezera | Veliki slap and Sastavci

WI_hr201.jpg

View after sunrise. The Plitvice Lakes represent a series of tufa lakes and waterfalls, Veliki slap being the highest among them. The evolution of this ensemble is closely related to karst phenomena. The area was declared a national park already in 1949, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, and has become a scene of mass tourism.
