View in SE direction to Kleifarvatn. This tectonic lake is located at the Mid Atlantic Ridge. It has no surfical in- or outflows. An earthquakes in 2000 has resulted in seppage and lowering of the lake level, a phenomenon which inspired the Icelandic author Arnaldur Indriðason to write a crime story featuring the lake.
