View from Fagradalsfjall in W direction to Sýlingarfell (197 m). The dark lava field in front of Sýlingarfell goes back to the 2023 Sundhnúkur eruption. It was followed by further eruptions nearby, possibly representing the early stage of a new phase of activity on the Reykjanes peninsula, which might continue for decades or even centuries.
