Panoramic view from Sandafell in S direction over the peninsula between Dýrafjörður and Arnarfjörður. This type of landscape characterized by steep slopes, sharp ridges and peaks, and U-shaped valleys is typical for the Westfjords, where volcanic activity has ceased long ago and Pleistocene glaciers have carved the terrain.
