This sandy beach at the SW coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula once served as a locally important fishing harbour. However, the nearby fishing station of Dritvík is now uninhabited, and the beach is mainly visited by tourists. The metal debris spread along the beach belongs to the fishing trawler Epine, which was wrecked here in 1948.
