View from Krippenstein in SW direction to Hoher Dachstein (2995 m). It is located on the border between Upper Austria and Styria, and is the highest peak of both provinces. It gives the name to the layered limestone it consists of (Dachsteinkalk in German), which formed in a shallow lagoon on the shelf of the ancient Tethys ocean.
