View from Kennedy Pier to the Roman Catholic Saint Colman's Cathedral. Built in Gothic Revival style, this church was under construction in 1912, when the best-known historic event of the port town happened: the RMS Titanic made its last stop here before heading towards the Atlantic Ocean. At that time, the town was called Queenstown and served as one of the major transatlantic ports of Ireland, playing a central role in the emigration of Irish people to North America.
