View across the ruins of the Basilica Ulpia (part of Trajan's Forum) to Trajan's Column. It was erected in the early 2nd Century to the honour of the emperor Trajan and served as a model for many other ancient and modern columns. The Chiesa del Santissimo Nome di Maria appears in the right background of the photo.
