Piazza dei Miracoli. The construction of the campanile of the Duomo di Pisa started in the 1170s and took about 200 years. Due to soft ground on one side, the tower started to incline already during construction. The movement continued afterwards, until stabilization works took place in the late 20th and early 21st Century. The cathedral and its campanile are both examples of Romanesque-Style architecture.
