Pisa | Cathedral and leaning tower at night

WI_e2104_003.JPG

Piazza dei Miracoli. Nighttime view of the Romanesque-Style Duomo di Pisa with its famous campanile in the right background. Construction of the campanile started in the 1170s and took about 200 years. Due to soft ground on one side, the tower started to incline already during construction. The movement continued afterwards, until stabilization works took place in the late 20th and early 21st Century.
