This scuplture represents a germanic dragon or lindworm. Created from a single block of chlorite schist, it has decorated the Neuer Platz, one of the central squares of Klagenfurt, since 1593. This most famous landmark of the Carinthian capital city forms part of an ensemble which also includes a fountain added in the early 17th century.
