Dachsteingebirge | Karstic sinkhole

WI_at201.jpg

Karstic sinkhole along the way from Gjaidalm to Heilbronner Kreuz. This type of landform is also known as doline (slavic word for valley). In this case, the bottom of the doline is quite green, compared to the surrounding landscape. This indicates that some fine material - probably till - has accumulated there, which can retain some water.
